The first season of Arakawa Under the Bridge is set to premiere on February 26 on Tokyo MX.
But what is it about?
Arakawa is set in an alternate world where the city of Akiba, which was destroyed by the pandemic, has become a virtual fortress and has been converted into a large city for the purpose of defense against the undead.
The undead have spread from the city into other cities across the world, including Tokyo, and the series takes place during the pandemics first major pandemic in 2020.
The cast includes:The show’s creators, Masakazu Ito and Takeshi Kitano, have gone on record to say that they are not averse to the idea of making the series more popular in the future.
They’ve also said that they’d like to create a world where people are able to go back to their homes and live their lives normally, as well as an anime world where there is no one to fight for the good of the world.
Arakawas story follows a group of people as they fight to survive against the rising threat of the undead, as they have to protect their home and family from the threat of death.
The show was announced by Arakaws director, Makoto Kato in an interview with the Japanese outlet Comic Natalie.
The series will premiere on Tokyo, where it will be simulcast on Crunchyroll, but we’ve got a feeling we won’t be seeing much of it in the United States until after its airing.
It will be interesting to see if it does well in the U.S., and whether the American audience will embrace the show for its realistic look at the zombie apocalypse.
We’re hoping that the fans of the series will see a lot of the same, if not more, than we did for the first season, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for any announcements about the next season.
