Japanese anime giant Funimation has announced a new Japanese-only anime dubbed Naked Animations, which will debut in April.
The series, which follows the lives of nine characters who inhabit a town called Gakuen, will be available on the company’s Anime-Subculture channel, which is available to stream and view in Japan.
“We’ve spent over a year planning this series, and we’re really excited to launch this brand new series with such a passionate community,” said Funimation chief creative officer Takashi Ohtsuki.
“Naked Animations brings to life the unique world of the U-Kan characters and brings them to life in a brand-new way that celebrates both the fun and the beauty of anime.”
The series will be streamed on Funimation’s YouTube channel, and Funimation will offer a special special digital download.
“It’s the kind of world we love to watch, so it’s important that we have a place for our favorite characters to show up and interact,” said Kenji Fujisaki, CEO of the Funimation Animation Studio.
“This is the kind in which the company has always wanted to take place.”
In Japan, Naked Animates will premiere at the end of April.
