Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman is set to star as the main villain in a new comic book series by Dark Horse Comics, according to the site of Marvel Entertainment.
Black Panther, the world-famous superhero who fought alongside Captain America in the 2016 film, will also star in the upcoming Black Widow comic book, the comic publisher confirmed on its Twitter account.
Black Widow, a Black Panther in her own right, will be a solo title.
Blackheart Comics is based in the UK, and is owned by Marvel.
Blackthorne, the Black Panther’s former mentor, was killed in the climax of the movie, but he is not the only one with a past.
He is also known as the Blackheart and the Black Widow.
A third character, Dr. Henry Pym, will appear in the new book.
The publisher’s description of the new comic reads: “The world is reeling from the destruction wrought by the Black-ops organization known as Hydra.
A group of scientists led by Black Panther have created a superweapon to combat Hydra.
But with a few rogue soldiers in their midst, the situation can’t be resolved without a team of heroes who are also Black Panther.”
It’s not the first time Black Panther has been linked to comic book.
He has appeared in a number of titles over the years.
He was first introduced as a villain in 1961’s The Avengers.
He’s portrayed by Steve Rogers in The Avengers and the Captain America comic series.
In 2016, Marvel Comics also rebooted the Black Panthers superhero, making him a playable character in the film.
He also appears in the television series Daredevil, as well as on the ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and in the comic series Young Justice.
